On her wedding day, TikToker Abigail (@abigailrutherford81) had a beautiful ceremony. Everything was going well, except for a rude lady at the church who was being mean to them.
Then, to top it all off, someone stole her husband’s and the groomsmen’s wallets, so they don’t have any money. Her husband had to go to the bank to freeze his credit cards.
“While we were in our ceremony, somebody had stolen a backpack that had my husband’s phone, my husband’s wallet, his brother’s phone, wallet, keys, and college laptop,” explained Abigail.
She was upset because she had waited her whole life for this day, only for the moment to be tarnished by this negative turn of events.
But apparently, people on TikTok took issue with her saying that she had been waiting her whole life to get married, so of course, she had to address their comments in a follow-up video.
“First of all, I did wait for my whole life for that moment, but I also waited my whole life for me to graduate with my bachelor’s degree,” said Abigail.
“I was raised in a large family, and I’m the first of my family to go to college, a first-generation college student, truly. I’m also dyslexic, so even the task of graduating from high school was deemed as something incredible.”
She even graduated with a master’s degree from the University of Kentucky, another accomplishment that she had been working toward her whole life. She ended up in a career she loved.
But a month after getting engaged, she found out that they were having a baby. She was six months pregnant when she quit her job to be able to stay at home with the baby.

“I not only waited my whole life to find love, but to start a family,” Abigail said. “But I also waited my whole life to have my wedding in the cathedral. That is not where I go to church. It is the only cathedral in Utah.”
She spent three years with her now-husband before he proposed. She is glad that a good man was sent into her life to teach her what true love is.
Abigail refuses to be apologetic for wanting to get married and have a family. In fact, she encourages other women to achieve the same things if that’s what they want.
In the comments section, several TikTok users supported Abigail for her choices and pointed out that everyone’s goals may be different, but there is no reason to bash others because of these differences.
“Absolutely do not apologize!! You have every single right to be excited about and look forward to big events in your life. Good for you!!! So proud of you and all of your accomplishments!!” exclaimed one user.
“People forget that the true meaning of a feminist is empowering to women to live the life they want. That can mean no kids, career, travel, and it can also mean stay-at-home wife and mom,” commented another.
“I wish people would respect that everyone’s timeline should look different and everyone has different hopes and dreams,” stated a third.
