She Was Taking A Trip Across The Country With Her Boyfriend When She Vanished And Now Her Boyfriend Is Considered A Person Of Interest

North Port, Florida. 22-year-old Gabrielle Petito was following her dream of making her way across America with her boyfriend when she vanished.

Gabby and her boyfriend Brian Laundrie bought a white-colored 2012 Ford Transit van that they were living in as they traveled across the country together in it.

Gabby and Brian began their trip on July 2nd in New York, and they drove to Colorado before making their way to Utah.

Gabby’s last location was a hotel in Salt Lake City, and she was last seen there on August 24th. The next day, she called her family to say that she had arrived in Grand Teton National Park.

August 25th also is the date of her last post on social media, and after that, Gabby disappeared.

It’s now been weeks since her family has heard from her, and authorities are now revealing a few more details regarding Gabby’s disappearance.

In a post shared earlier today, the North Port Police Department announced that they will be taking the lead on the investigation into Gabby’s disappearance, but now the FBI has been brought on to help.

“Several detectives are working around the clock to piece this complex and far-reaching situation together,” the North Port Police Department shared in a statement.

“Gabrielle’s vehicle was recovered here in North Port at her home on September 11th. A home shared with her boyfriend Brian Laundrie and his parents.”

“That vehicle was fully processed for evidence along with FBI agents Tuesday evening. As of now, Brian has not made himself available to be interviewed by investigators or has provided any helpful details.”

“We know Brian returned here to North Port on September 1st — ten days before her family reported her missing on September 11th.”

“We have no information that a crime occurred here in North Port. Brian Laundrie is a person of interest in this case.”

North Port Police Chief Todd Garrison then begged Brian or any other person who has information regarding Gabby’s disappearance to please come forward.

“As a father, I can imagine the pain and suffering Gabby’s family is going through,” North Port Police Chief Todd Garrison.

“We are pleading with anyone, including Brian, to share information with us on her whereabouts in the past few weeks.”

“The lack of information from Brian is hindering this investigation. The answers will eventually come out. We will help find Gabby and we will help find anyone who may be involved in her disappearance.”

Authorities are also asking that anyone who might have seen the van Gabby and Brian were driving around in to please let them know.

Photos of the van are below, and the official tip line for the investigation is now 1-800-CALLFBI (225-5324).

Currently, there are hundreds of leads investigators are sifting through.

Gabby is 5’5″ and weighs 110 pounds. She has blue eyes, blond hair, and a few tattoos. One of her tattoos is on her right arm and it says “let it be.”

Gabby also has a tattoo on her left arm of a triangle and flowers. Her belly button is pierced.
