She Briefly Dated Her Neighbor, Who Bragged About Buying His Ex-Girlfriend And Son A Million Dollar Home
A TikTok creator named Paulina Torres (@paulinat) is issuing a warning to never date your neighbor. She learned her lesson after going on a first date with a guy who lived in the same apartment building as her.
It all started one day when he got into the elevator she was in, and she thought that he was really cute. Nothing happened then, but eventually, they ended up talking, and he asked for her phone number.
Once she gave it to him, he set up a dinner date with her. That same night or the next day, she saw him get onto the elevator with another girl. It was extremely awkward for all three of them. However, she didn’t think that the girl was his girlfriend because it seemed like they were just meeting for the first time.
Later on, he texted Paulina, apologizing for the awkward moment at the elevator. He explained that he had just met the girl on a dating app.
Looking back, Paulina realized that was when she should’ve cut ties with him, but instead, she decided to give him another chance. She reasoned with herself that men often got lonely and hoped the situation would be a one-time thing.
When the day of their date came around, he still had not called or texted to confirm their plans. It was already eleven or twelve o’clock when she went downstairs to the lobby of her building. For some reason, her date was sitting down there, looking as if he had seen a ghost, and he was very awkward toward her.
Ten minutes later, he texted her, apologizing for their odd interaction. He also asked if their plans were still happening that night.
She told him she needed to cancel their date because of work. Later in the day, he texted her again, saying that he really wanted to take her out and didn’t want it to be weird every time they saw each other. Against her better judgment, she agreed to reschedule their date.
On the day of the date, he drove them to the restaurant he had picked out. He hadn’t made a reservation, so there was an hour-long wait to be seated. He suggested another place he knew that he had heard good reviews about, so they headed there. During the car ride, he asked Paulina where she saw herself in five to ten years. She responded honestly, saying that she saw herself raising a family.

Then, he asked about her career goals. She explained that she wanted to be a stay-at-home mother so she would be able to take care of her children to the best of her abilities. He started strongly agreeing with her and mentioned how his relationship with his ex-girlfriend broke down because she was working too much, and all he wanted to do was take care of her. However, he sounded insincere to Paulina.
He also revealed that he had a child and bragged about how he bought his son and ex-girlfriend a million-dollar house. She was not looking to date someone with a kid, and she could tell he was lying about how wealthy he was because the details just weren’t adding up.
When they reached the new place he suggested, he told Paulina that he had taken his ex-girlfriend there for their first date.
However, Paulina recalled that earlier, he had said he had never been there before. During their date, she made it clear that she wasn’t interested in dating him because he had a kid, but she would be okay with being friends. He actually tried convincing her to change her mind.
The whole time, she was waiting for the check to finally arrive. When the check came, she immediately took out her credit card, further emphasizing her previous statement about wanting to be strictly friends. She didn’t expect him to pay, but he insisted on covering the bill, so she just let him.
On the way back to their apartment, he kept trying to touch her leg, and she kept brushing his hand away.
By the time they got to the elevators, it was obvious that things weren’t going to work out between them, so he ended up telling her that he needed to leave and tend to something. Back in her apartment, she posted about how bad the date was and that he had been lying about a bunch of stuff.
Immediately afterward, she received a text message from her date accusing her of slandering him. She told him to leave her alone, but he continued spamming her with messages.
She blocked him, but he contacted her from a different phone number, calling her a gold digger. She offered to pay for her half of the dinner, and he tried to make her pay him back in full. He also called her a bunch of other names. Now, he avoids her at all costs in their apartment building.
