After getting married, TikToker Sarah Hesse (@sarahhhesse) and her new husband went on their dream honeymoon to Argentina. They planned to spend two whole weeks exploring the city and going to wine country.
But on the way to their honeymoon, Sarah fell ill. She threw up about 30 times in the airport in Colombia during their layover. When they boarded their flight, she ended up having a seizure in her husband’s lap.
So, they had to stay in a hotel to get some rest. Twelve hours later, she got cleared to fly. They made it to their Airbnb in Buenos Aires, thinking that the worst of it had passed. However, it had only just begun.
The next thing she knew, she woke up in an ambulance with a bunch of EMTs questioning her in Spanish. She had had a second seizure, but this time, she had lost her pulse.
Luckily, her new husband was a nurse. He performed CPR on her and was able to revive her.
She spent over a day in the dirtiest hospital in the world. They discovered that she had a pretty nasty UTI that could’ve caused the seizures.
They told her that she needed to see a specialist when she returned to the United States because there was a possibility that she had epilepsy. Finally, she was released from the hospital and was ready to get back to her honeymoon.
But she spent the next two days projectile vomiting everything. She couldn’t keep any food or water down. They had to call for another ambulance because they were worried Sarah was going to have another seizure.
Apparently, she was not sick enough to justify a visit to the hospital. Instead, she had to settle for pulling her pants down while five grown men stood over and gave her a shot with the largest needle she had ever seen.

She later found out that they had combined two medicines that should never be combined. The shot helped her for approximately 25 minutes before she continued vomiting.
The following day, she went to a hospital that was even dirtier than the one before. They didn’t change the sheets in between patients, which were covered with blood and other bodily fluids. She got just well enough to travel home.
According to a comment, Sarah visited her doctor and a neurologist once she arrived home. They are still figuring it out, but are thinking that the UTI caused the seizures.
She is getting all the scans and follow-up tests to confirm that nothing more is going on.
In the comments section, several TikTok users offered their sympathy and pointed out that her husband definitely took their marriage vows seriously.
“Omg, sweetheart!!! That’s the for worst part of the marriage! But my goodness, did you marry the right man!” commented one user.
“Well, that’s one way to have an unforgettable honeymoon. You didn’t have to test out the ’til death’ part of your vows so soon. I hope you have the best doctors helping you continue to sort out your health issues. That sounds like it was terrifying!” exclaimed another.
“As horrifying as that all is, at least you figured out if he really meant that whole in sickness and in health thing,” chimed in a third.
