After knowing someone for years and committing your life to them, you don’t expect to be betrayed. But TikToker Kourtney (@kourtneypeel_) had to call off her engagement six months before her wedding to her fiancé of five years because he cheated.
Her fiancé was the best man at his friends’ George and Shayla’s wedding. That was where everything fell apart. For some context, Shayla has always had a problem with Kourtney.
Every time they went out to dinner, Shayla would ignore Kourtney. But she would easily have entire conversations with Kourtney’s fiancé.
At George and Shayla’s wedding, Kourtney ended up not feeling well by the end of the night. She decided to sit in the car and rest while everyone else continued dancing. From where she was sitting, she could see everything that was going on.
She noticed the maid of honor getting up close to her fiancé and was clearly flirting with him. This bothered her, but she wanted to wait to mention it later so that she didn’t make a big scene. At one point, the party moved beyond where she could see.
Around midnight, her fiancé returned to the car. She expressed her feelings about the flirting, and he seemed very understanding about it. But the next day, he was acting weird, and they argued a little about the previous night’s events.
The following day was her birthday, and he had planned the cutest celebration for her. He was still acting weird for the rest of the week, but she thought he just wasn’t feeling well.
One day, she was driving to a photography session (because she was a photographer) and saw an email come through from TikTok.
She has her boyfriend’s email on her phone from helping him sign documents and book appointments. The email showed that he had a message from the maid of honor.

Kourtney pulled over and checked his TikTok account. They had been sending mushy relationship videos to each other. She called him repeatedly, but he did not pick up. He was out with George, Shayla, and some other friends.
Finally, he called her back. She asked him why he had been sending videos to the maid of honor. He claimed that he had meant to send them to Kourtney. Both of their names started with K. Of course, Kourtney wasn’t buying it.
“First off, you didn’t have her on social media because you didn’t know her before the wedding,” she said. “But now you do have her social media, so let’s try a new lie, something that makes a little bit more sense.”
After work, she went back home and stayed up late, waiting for him to come home so they could talk about it. He returned at 3 a.m.
She watched him delete the girl from his social media. She is convinced that Shayla knew all about this because she and her maid of honor were best friends, of course.
One night, Kourtney was getting ready for bed when she was struck with a sudden urge to check her fiancé’s tablet and go through his notes.
She saw that his best man’s speech was edited a week after the wedding. At the bottom, he had written Shayla’s Instagram login information. He had been messaging the maid of honor through Shayla’s account.
Then, they realized that Kourtney had logged into the account, so they kicked her off. She confronted Shayla, blocked her, and then confronted her fiancé. He claimed that the maid of honor had just wanted to know why she got blocked.
“Looking back on it, I know he was doing all that to try to get me to leave, but at that moment, I felt like if I left, I was losing everything because we had so much together, and all I could think about was the negative,” said Kourtney.
He told her that he had been unhappy for a few weeks. He couldn’t give her an answer to what he wanted. The next day, he talked to his mom and decided that they should take a break because he needed to find happiness.
He promised that she was still the only one he wanted to be with.
Later, after he came home from work at 4 a.m., she checked his social media out of paranoia and realized that he seemed to be playing games with everyone.
The maid of honor had visited him at work, and they spent quality time together until 4 a.m. Kourtney told him that they were done, and he agreed.
The breakup was messy because they had to figure out how to split their debts. One day, he went to the house in his truck. Shayla and the maid of honor were there, too.
They started unloading Kourtney’s furniture into the truck while she wasn’t home. Kourtney called her uncle, who had gifted her most of that stuff. He went to the house and called the cops, so Kourtney had to deal with that.
Once it was all over, she blocked everyone who was involved with the cheating scandal. Her ex-fiancé and the maid of honor moved in together and live in his and Kourtney’s old house.
