When a guy asked TikToker Destiny Polk (@destinypolk_) out on a date to a steakhouse, she was hopeful that he would be a suitable match.

He picked her up from work and drove an hour to the restaurant. The decision would come back to haunt her almost immediately.

“Normally, I drive myself to dates because I’m not fixing to be nowhere without a car, so I can leave when I want to,” said Destiny. “But for some reason, I decided I’ll let him drive me.  So, I parked my car at my job, and he came and picked me up.”

The vibe was off from the moment she got into the car. The entire way to the restaurant, he launched straight into a monologue about his life struggles instead of making light small talk.

He vented about his daddy issues, his debt, how much he hated his job, and how miserable his life felt overall. She appreciated the honesty and could relate to having problems with her dad, but all the other topics he touched on didn’t make for very good first-date conversation. At least he showed his red flags early on.

When they got to the restaurant, he asked her if she liked onion rings. She told him that she didn’t, but he proceeded to order them anyway and got mad at her for not helping him eat the appetizer.

Soon, the rest of their food came. He physically picked up his plate and licked it clean right in the middle of the restaurant with zero shame and plenty of spectators.

As if that weren’t already bad enough, he reached across the table to grab the leftovers from her plate and ate those up as well.

Destiny was super embarrassed by his lack of table manners and was more than ready to go home by that point. She glared at him, but didn’t want to be too mean since he was her ride home. He was also showing subtle signs of aggression, so she didn’t want to provoke him either.

“Mind you, he got a big steak himself, along with sides, and still had the nerve to eat mine,” Destiny wrote in the comments.

By the end of the night, the date had become a cautionary tale rather than a positive memory. Several TikTok users shared their thoughts about her dating experience in the comments section.

“I’m glad I’m not the only one who takes their own vehicle on a first date because it’s scary times out here, and I might need to skedaddle,” stated one user.

“If he put his hand on my plate, I would’ve straight up bit him,” commented another.

“Girl, you are funny, and that’s crazy!! I hope you find someone who treats you right and does not drive you mentally insane on the first date,” wrote a third.
