When TikToker Aly’s (@otherworlddaly) aunt was a teenager, she played with a homemade Ouija board, and the consequences of that were terrifying. Her aunt told her this story as a warning not to mess with Ouija boards.
Her aunt was a rebellious child, while Aly’s mom was the younger sibling and was always more obedient. One day, Aly’s aunt brought home some of her friends from school.
At first, they were just hanging out and reading magazines. But then, one of the friends pulled out a homemade Ouija board that she had made on a piece of cardboard.
Everyone was excited to play with it, except for Aly’s mom, who was crying in fear. She begged them not to do it, but of course, the older kids completely dismissed her. So, she sat on the opposite end of the room, not wanting anything to do with it.
The other girls, including Aly’s aunt, surrounded the board, giggling and asking questions to the entity they were trying to contact. They weren’t taking it very seriously and had taken on almost a mocking tone.
Their homemade planchette never moved, so they eventually grew bored and packed it up. After a while, everyone left.
At around two in the morning, Aly’s aunt suddenly woke up. She was overwhelmed with crippling fear. She was lying on her side, facing the wall.
Then, she felt the bed sink down, as if someone had sat down next to her. She had the feeling it wasn’t her parents or siblings. She started to pray and realized that she couldn’t move at all.
A deep, raspy male voice sounded in her ear, clear as day. It said, “Turn around. Don’t you want to see what I look like?”

She immediately let out a bloodcurdling scream that woke up the rest of the family. They rushed to her room, asking her what was going on. She played it off like she had a bad dream and apologized for waking everyone up.
Everyone went back to bed, but she stayed up all night, praying and apologizing for messing with the spirits. The next morning, she confessed to what really happened to Aly’s mom.

“My mom played it often with her cousins, and one of the spirits came to her aunt in a dream, saying to tell the kids to stop contacting me and playing Ouija. They’re lucky the spirit was benign,” commented one user.
“My mom and aunts made a Ouija board on a piece of notebook paper in 2009. It is still following my family to this day,” declared another.
“I made a homemade Ouija board and started hearing voices in my head for months, but then they stopped. This was around when I was 11,” wrote a third.
