If your spouse cheated on you, then got you arrested and lied to the police, what on earth would you do?

This 53-year-old woman and her 56-year-old husband got married 16 years ago. She thought they had a wonderful life together, and her husband never once said that he was anything other than happy to be with her.

They still go out on dates every week, and she figured their marriage was unbreakable…up until two weeks ago. Now, throughout the last month, she’s been realizing things are off.

Her husband has been smiling at his phone nonstop and ordering weird packages. Her granddaughter dropped one in their cat’s water bowl, so she opened it.

“[There were] some gifts from Coach when he got home. I told him what had happened, and he asked me if I’d seen what was in the box,” she explained.

“I said no because I thought it was a gift for me and didn’t wanna ruin it. I never got the gift, then two weeks ago, he was gonna go to a baseball game with his boss.”

“Come to find out, he didn’t go with his boss. I let it slide, whatever, then this weekend, Fourth of July weekend, he disappears, so he’s going to someone’s barbecue.”

She’s friends with the person her husband claimed to be hanging out with, so she called them and found out there wasn’t a barbecue at all, so her husband lied about his whereabouts.

She figured out that her husband was actually in a hotel room with a girl, which shattered her heart into pieces. However, she said that wasn’t even the ugliest part.

After her husband came home from the hotel and confessed to cheating, she asked if she could see his phone. He had already deleted all of the evidence of his affair.

As she still had his phone in her hand, he got a text from his mistress saying he was on her mind after their night at the hotel. She started running to their bathroom so she could finish reading what this girl said.

Her husband broke down the bathroom door and threw her across the room. He never put his hands on her before then. Next, he called the police on her and told them she hit him, so she got arrested!

“I sat in jail for three days. Lost my job. I have severe lupus and need my insurance, so I lost [my] medical insurance. I need to stay alive,” she continued.

“I just cannot believe this is my life right now, that he would take everything from me in one shot. I have [already] buried one of my children, and the feeling is so reminiscent of that. I feel like I’m dying inside. I can’t breathe.”

“Everything I thought I knew was all lies. How can someone do this and be OK with themselves? How did I not see this sooner?”

Well, it’s normal to trust your spouse until they give you a reason otherwise, so she shouldn’t feel foolish. But honestly, the affair isn’t her biggest issue; it’s her husband making a false accusation against her and getting her arrested.

Not only does she need to call a divorce lawyer, but she should find a criminal defense lawyer, too, to speak to in order to hopefully get her out of this mess.

What advice do you have for her?
