Her Sister Attempted To Sabotage Her Wedding By Encouraging Her Nieces And Nephews Not To Show Up, So Now She’s Refusing To Attend Her Niece’s Wedding, And Her Mom Believes She’s Being Immature

This 26-year-old woman claims that growing up, she and her sister never had a great relationship.
Her sister, who is now 40-years-old, is 15 years older than her. So, they never really fostered a true sister connection, and her sister was reportedly always resentful toward her.
Then, even in adulthood, nothing ever changed. After having kids, her sister would still treat her like an outcast and even try to turn her nieces and nephews against her– encouraging them to disrespect and insult her.
Amidst all of this, her mom never really came down on her older sister. Instead, her mom just encouraged her to “be the bigger person.”
“So I would always forgive when they would apologize or act all nice again,” she recalled.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, for instance, her sister and her sister’s husband decided to kick out her niece.
At the time, her sister was reportedly having a bad mood swing and somehow got her niece’s other four siblings to help kick her niece out, too.
So, her niece wound up calling her for help. And when she showed up, she found her niece standing on the curb holding trash bags filled with belongings; meanwhile, her sister refused to open up the door.
At that point, she decided to be there for her niece even if her sister wasn’t going to be. She ultimately took her niece into her home and gave her a place to live for six months.

She also helped her niece secure an apartment after turning 20-years-old.
Once her niece actually got the apartment, though, her sister and her sister’s husband came crawling back. They apparently convinced her niece to move back in and, afterward, turned her niece against her.
“The same niece turned on me, and I felt very sad because she was in my home, and I did everything for her when her own mom discarded her like trash,” she revealed.
Then, in 2021, the same exact thing happened yet again. Her sister kicked out her nephew– who was just 16 at the time. And her nephew went running to her for help.
So, she picked up her nephew and let him stay in her home– just as she did with her niece.
At the same time, she and her now-husband were planning their wedding. And in spite of their differences, she knew there was no way she couldn’t invite her sister and her nieces and nephews to the event.
Anyway, she tried to be the bigger person and extended the invitation to her sister’s family. But to her complete surprise, her sister and her sister’s children just wound up ridiculing her!
In fact, her sister told her that her attitude was “too disgusting” to ever get married. Then, her sister claimed they would not be attending because she “didn’t deserve” to be married. Finally, everyone except her niece blocked her on social media.
Now, at that point, her niece still promised to be there and even promised to act as a witness to her wedding.
Come the day of her nuptials, though, her niece didn’t show up– and never even gave her the courtesy of a phone call. Later on, after her mom called her niece to see what had happened, her niece also said, “I don’t even know what kind of wedding it is. I don’t see the point in all this,” before hanging up.
Thankfully, her photographer was willing to step in and be the second witness for her wedding. But obviously, her heart was still completely broken after her sister’s whole family did that.
“I know my sister put them up to it, but I thought my niece would have risen above it– given all I have done for her,” she vented.
Then, in the wake of her wedding, she vowed to move on and never speak to her sister’s family again. Since then, she and her husband have been enjoying a happy marriage. They also just welcomed their first baby into the world together and are thriving.
More recently, though, her niece reportedly met someone, got engaged, and sent out wedding invitations. So, her mom told her about the wedding and instructed her to mark her calendar– suggesting she needed to be there.
But honestly, she reminded her mom of what happened on her own wedding day and refused to attend her niece’s nuptials.
Shockingly, though, her mom just gave her the same speech again– telling her to “be the bigger person” and to stop living in the past. Then, even after she cried to her mom, she just got accused of being bitter and selfish.
“My mom gave me a blank stare and then told me that no one thinks about her and that I will regret my actions when she dies,” she explained.
So now, even though she really does not want to go, her mom’s guilt trip has left her wondering whether refusing to attend her niece’s wedding after her sister’s family tried to sabotage her own makes her immature or not.
Why do you think her sister has been such a bully her entire life? Should she feel required to attend her niece’s wedding after everything that has happened? What would you do in this situation?
