She Won’t Let Her Stepdaughter Return Home Because The Teen Wrecked $1,000 Worth Of Her Daughter’s Stuff
This 30-year-old woman has a daughter named Leia, 14, from a previous relationship. Six years ago, she married her husband, Mark, 46. Mark and his ex-wife share two children: a son named Koi, 16, and a daughter named Coral, 16.
While Mark’s children live with them full-time, they spend several weeks with his ex-wife each summer. She owns a five-bedroom lake house, which Mark, Koi, and Coral moved into with her. Two of the upstairs bedrooms have bathrooms, and one of them is Leia’s room.
Once Leia and Coral began high school, Coral started whining that she wanted to move into the bedroom with the bathroom, but Mark and Koi chimed in, asking her to stop whining. Leia suggested that Coral take her bedroom so that she could move into the basement. She wasn’t thrilled about this plan, but Leia pleaded with her, so she eventually gave in because Leia said she wanted to change things up.
She and Mark pay their children an allowance and let their children get work permits. Koi had a job at an arcade and told Leia and Coral he could help them get jobs there, too. Coral turned him down, but Leia took him up on the offer.
“After five months of saving her allowance, she was able to buy everything she needed to decorate,” she said.
Since Coral was convinced that there were tons of spiders in the basement, she never set foot down there. Koi, on the other hand, helped Leia organize her new bedroom over the course of seven days. The basement underwent an amazing transformation. Leia asked everyone to come downstairs to see all the work she and Koi had done, and it was fantastic.
While looking around, she saw that Leia had purchased clear computer towers, which she didn’t know existed. Leia beamed with pride, but Coral yelled that it was unfair that Leia got to have her bedroom in the basement, now wanting to switch rooms with her again. The entire family started screaming at Coral, who immediately burst into tears.
“Before we knew it, she ran over to the computer and threw the tower on the ground. The glass shattered, and one of the monitors fell to the floor, also breaking,” she explained.
Understandably, Leia was devastated and started sobbing. She told Mark that Coral would be financially responsible for destroying Leia’s property, but he didn’t agree to this. Mark argued that Coral was emotional and that they’d figure out what to do once everyone settled down.

After this, she marched over to Coral and told her she was grounded. Mark didn’t have her back, but that didn’t matter to her. Coral was in hysterics at this point. Mark’s ex-wife came over to pick up Coral, and Coral raced out of the house to her mom’s vehicle. Later, Koi was consoling Leia.
“Mark tried to hand her $300, but Koi explained that Coral caused about a thousand dollars worth of damages. He said, luckily, the expensive pieces in the case were saved, but the case itself was about $450, and the monitor was $200,” she shared.
In response, Mark said he didn’t have much extra money to give Leia. She told him that Coral wasn’t allowed back into their home until Leia’s property was repaired or replaced, and Coral said she was sorry. Koi thought this was reasonable, but Mark was furious, claiming that this wasn’t fair to Coral. She said he could get out if he didn’t agree with her terms.
Mark walked out of the house and came back a few hours later with a check made out to Leia for $1,000. She reminded him that Coral still couldn’t return to the house without her being disciplined.
When Mark’s ex-wife heard what happened, she called her and accused her of kicking Coral out because she didn’t believe Coral should have a lot of space, adding that she was mistreating Coral. She countered that Coral’s actions spoke for themselves, and she was well within her rights to kick Coral out. Without another word, Mark’s ex-wife hung up on her.
As word spread about the chaos, Mark’s ex-in-laws called him repeatedly, calling him an awful father. His sister echoed this sentiment, which hurt him because he and his sister are close. Since everyone piled on with criticism, Mark has been struggling to get out of bed.
