She Met A New Friend Who Started Following Her Husband Around And Making Him Really Uncomfortable

This 26-year-old woman is a stay-at-home mom who recently decided to try out the Bumble Friends app. Her goal was to meet other moms in the area and set up some playdates for her kids.
And in the beginning, things started off well. She wound up meeting a 23-year-old single mom who had a son around her own son’s age. That’s why they got to talking and wound up scheduling some playdates.
But since the other mom still lived at home, the mom wanted all of the playdates to take place at either her house or the park. Still, she was completely fine with that.
“Our boys got along great, and it was really sweet,” she recalled. “My husband was always a part of the play dates or around the house when they came by, and he enjoyed the occasional conversation.”
Then, the other mom eventually started talking to guys and searching for a boyfriend. Afterward, her new mom friend did find a man who apparently adored her and her son.
“That sounded like a win in my book!” she said.
However, the next time the mom went over to her house for dinner and a play date, things just seemed off.
The mom barely even spoke to her whenever she tried to start a conversation. Yet, whenever her husband walked into the room or sat down, the mom would initiate conversations with him about anything and everything.
For instance, her husband would get asked about his day, his work, and if he had been going to the gym.

And at first, she did not think much of the discussions and thought they were just talking about normal conversation topics.
Once the mom started following her husband everywhere he went in the house, though, she realized something was up.
“He moved to the dining room, and [the mom] followed. He went to the bathroom, and she waited outside the door. He finally went and sat in his gaming area while I was sitting in the living room with her eating, and she moved to go sit basically at his feet,” she explained.
Now, the mom did eventually get a call from the new man she was talking to. So, the mom left with her son, but she and her husband were left super confused.
Her husband admitted to feeling very uncomfortable the entire night due to the mom’s actions. Then, he even asked her not to have playdates with the other mother anymore while he was around.
She and the mom had also planned a trip to the zoo with their kids. But, due to the incident, her husband did not want to go anymore. Plus, since her husband was staying home, her son wanted to stay with him.
Still, she did not want to cancel at the last minute, so she wound up just going to the zoo with the mom and her kid.
During the zoo trip, she bought the child a stuffed animal, and they all fed the giraffes together while waiting to see a live show.
Yet, throughout the whole day, the other mom still only spoke to her to ask about her husband. They didn’t even talk about their kids or anything else!
That’s why she eventually decided to come clean and reveal how the mom’s behavior the other night had made her husband seriously uncomfortable. She also revealed how her husband had asked to be left out of any playdate plans moving forward.
But rather than getting upset or at least trying to explain, the other mom just shrugged off her comments. Then, the mom claimed she and her son had to go, so they all left the zoo and parted ways.
It was not until 3:00 a.m. the following day that she got a real “response” from the other mom. At that point, she received a text message accusing her of being a jerk and a horrible friend. Plus, the other mom even blocked her on everything!
So now, ever since her friendship ended in a matter of a day, she’s been left wondering whether telling the mom that they made her husband uncomfortable was the wrong thing to do.
Why do you think her new friend was acting so weird around her husband? Did she have a right to come clean about her husband being uncomfortable? How would you have navigated this?
