For TikToker Brian (@brianbrister), his most recent dating experience just reinforced his belief that he will be single forever. He went on a date with a woman he met online, and at first, things seemed promising.

They met up at a coffee shop, ordered some coffee, and sat down at a table to chat. They immediately hit it off. The sparks were flying, and they had great banter. But about three minutes into the date, she casually mentioned that her family was there.

At first, he thought she meant that they were in town, visiting, but she clarified that they were actually at the coffee shop. She pointed behind him and waved.

When he turned around, he locked eyes with her mom, her dad, and her brother, all seated behind him, silently observing their date.

“Her mom waves at me; the dad does this slow nod like he’s measuring my soul,” said Brian. “The brother looks like he’s built to wrestle bears for fun.”

Before he could fully process what was happening, her mom came over, pulled up a chair, and joined them without asking.

Suddenly, he found himself in an interrogation. She asked Brian what he did for work, and he started answering politely because he didn’t know what else to do.

Her dad followed up with even more questions about what Brian’s five-year plan is and what church he attends.

Her brother didn’t say a word. He simply stared at him with a menacing glare, clearly trying to intimidate him. At one point, her mom said that Christmas was usually at their house, despite the fact that Brian had barely known his date for 10 minutes.

They awkwardly chatted for another five to 10 minutes before her family finally stood up to leave. Brian shook their hands and said goodbye.

“And my date left with them,” he said. “They all just walked out the door together. I just sat there in complete shock and finished my coffee. I’m going to be single forever.”

There was no explanation or apology from his date. It was a family ambush and a clean exit. Brian has concluded that dating is exhausting and unhinged.

“I’m sorry, what? I love my family and all, but dang,” one person commented on Brian’s video.

“I’m so happy I’m married, and I don’t have to date in 2026. Lol,” someone else said.

“I should tell you about how I met my husband. Meeting the family early isn’t necessarily a bad thing… but the first date? ” That’s… that’s a little too soon,” a third person added.

What’s the craziest date you’ve ever been on? Why do you think the date left with her family without saying anything to Brian? Was she embarrassed by their behavior, or was she in on the test from the beginning?

I’m gonna be single forever. Also, pretty sure there’s a prayer circle somewhere talking to the Lord about me. #dating #datingchronicles #datinginnashville #foryou #nashville
