Some bad dates end with an awkward hug or a fake emergency as an excuse to leave. Others can escalate into legal threats. TikToker Sofia Kochanova (@s.gorshok) went on a date with a guy who said some unpleasant things to her, and when she recorded everything on video and posted it online, he threatened to sue her.
His father was a lawyer and could take legal action against her.
For a lot of people, that kind of threat might be intimidating enough to back off. However, Sofia had a different idea. Rather than argue back and forth with him, she decided to go straight to the source.
After doing some research online, she found his dad’s law firm and booked a consultation with his lawyer father. On the day of the appointment, she showed up at the law office and waited there for 30 to 40 minutes because he was running late.
Finally, the two of them sat down and introduced themselves. Sofia got straight to the point. She told him that she went out on a date with his son and played the video of the interaction for him.
In the video, she was at a restaurant, and her date could be heard saying that he wasn’t going to pay the bill for dinner if she didn’t sleep with him.
The father watched the footage and apologized for his son as it played. But she didn’t stop there. She had more evidence to present. She then showed him some of the text messages his son had sent to her.
When he got to the part about his son threatening to sue Sofia because he was a lawyer, he stated that he wouldn’t even consider representing a case like that in the first place because it was so childish.
He apologized again for his son’s behavior and pointed out that his son was still young and making mistakes. Overall, the meeting seemed almost surreal and oddly satisfying.

Afterward, the lawyer dad sent her a gift, including a bouquet of flowers and tickets to a soccer game, to make up for what she had been through with his son.
People couldn’t get enough of the plot twist and took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the situation. Some of them took a humorous approach, encouraging her to become part of the family.
“And now his dad can’t represent him because of a conflict of interest,” stated one user.
“You should date his dad. Show up at a major holiday and become his stepmom,” joked another.
“Please say he’s also not charging you for the meeting or that he’s making his son pay for it,” commented a third.
“Become his stepmom and convince his dad to write him out of the will,” chimed in someone else.
