This thirty-three-year-old woman is actually an identical twin to her sister, named Lena. But, after she was born, she was immediately put up for adoption.

Apparently, her biological parents already had a ton of children. In fact, Lena was their twelfth child, and she was the thirteenth.

For whatever reason, though, her biological mother believed that she was “bad luck” because she was the thirteenth kid. So, she was put up for adoption and raised in another family.

Now, she claims to have always known about Lena and her biological family.

“I knew because originally, my parents were supposed to adopt both of us,” she revealed.

However, her biological parents decided to take Lena back from her adoptive parents after one month, and it broke her adoptive parent’s hearts.

And Lena, on the other hand, was actually raised not knowing that she ever existed– along with the rest of her biological siblings.

Well, that was until they were fourteen years old when they found each other at the King of Prussia Mall. According to her, it was much more shocking for Lena to see her than for her to see Lena– because she obviously already knew that Lena existed.

Her adoptive mom was also there, too, and it was an extremely emotional reunion.

“My mom hid tears during the meeting because this was the baby that was taken away from her,” she recalled.

Despite being separated at birth and living two completely different lives, though, she and Lena have come to be fairly close over the years.

They refrain from discussing her biological parents– who she calls “Lena’s parents”– and she only ever sees them on rare occasions.

Over the years, though, she has gotten to know most of her other biological siblings, as well as her nieces and nephews– which made her happy.

She has also grown up a lot since then, and this past June, her thirty-four-year-old fiancé Damien even proposed to her.

So, amidst all of the event planning, she, of course, also had to go wedding dress shopping.

And in planning for that outing, she decided to invite Lena and her sixteen-year-old niece named Callie.

Lena will also be her maid-of-honor, and Callie will be a bridesmaid in the wedding– so both of their attendance at the shopping trip made total sense to her.

Well, they just finally went wedding dress shopping a few days ago, and the day actually went great. However, she, Lena, and Callie all ended up taking pictures from the trip and posting them on social media– which stirred up a whole bunch of drama.

More specifically, her biological mom apparently saw the pictures and has begun freaking out on Facebook about not receiving an invite to the dress shopping– calling her an “ungrateful daughter.”

On top of that, her biological mom has blown up her email and her phone with messages about how “cruel” she was not to extend an invite.

“But she gave me up for being ‘bad luck.’ We have zero relationship. I didn’t even think she would want to be invited to either the shopping or the wedding– especially when my mom was there,” she admitted.

In spite of her own thoughts on the situation, though, her biological mom’s reaction has forced her to rethink her wedding dress shopping day.

So now, she has been left wondering if inviting her twin sister Lena and not inviting her biological mom to go pick out a wedding dress makes her a jerk or not.

If you had been in her shoes, would you have even considered inviting your biological mom, given the history? Do you think her bio mom had a right to call her an “ungrateful daughter” after her bio mom gave her up for being “bad luck?” Why do you think her bio mom cares about being involved in her life now, after all of these years? How would you advise her to deal with this situation?
