In November, TikToker Alana (@thealanapup) had planned to stay away from men for the month, but she accidentally met a guy who looked like a famous country singer, so against her better judgment, she decided to bend her own rule.

However, she regretted it after he made a gross comment about her body, reminding her why she had implemented the rule in the first place.

“I feel like there are a lot of people who say they want to date, but their actions just don’t line up with what they say,” said Alana.

“Let me just tell you what he did.”

The first date went well enough. He told her that he was looking to settle down and get married. After a string of dating disappointments, she thought this detour from her “no men” month might be worth it.

For their next date, they went golfing, and that was where things went wrong. Within the first five minutes they were there, he already cracked a crude joke, instantly changing the vibe.

She asked if they were playing all 18 holes of golf, and he replied with, “Nineteen, if we’re counting yours.”

Alana was not amused. This man was in his thirties, so he was much too old to be saying stuff like that. She immediately knew that he was not the one for her.

His behavior did not match his claims of wanting commitment. Saying you want a wife doesn’t mean much when you can’t make it through a date without objectifying the person sitting next to you.

Unfortunately, it did not stop there. He kept making similar jokes throughout the entire date. For instance, when they were driving on the course in the golf cart, it was super bumpy, and he said that he wanted to run over some more bumps to watch her chest bounce around.

At that point, she wanted to evaporate into thin air.

Many TikTok users flooded the comments section with similar experiences, commiserating over how common this type of behavior is.

“Honestly, it seriously sucks. It’s a swamp out there, but I’m also grateful when they show their true colors immediately,” commented one user.

“If it makes you feel any better, I’ve had men on dating apps straight up say comments or innuendos, and mind you, we haven’t even met yet in person,” chimed in another.

“This is my exact pet peeve. He says he’s looking for a relationship, but turns it into sleeping together quickly,” added a third.

While the attempt at dating was a bust, Alana walked away with her instincts validated and gratitude for the fact that the red flags showed up early. Now, she’s officially back on track with avoiding men; this time, with even more conviction.
