When you have a crush on someone, it's really easy to see what you want to see in them instead of what's actually there. She was hoping her crush would notice her, and all along, he was just waiting for the right time to cash in on her feelings.

When that moment came, he had her spend her own money, cook alone for four hours while he played video games, and then told her to leave before his actual girlfriend showed up.

This 22-year-old girl feels so foolish about what recently went down between her and the guy she has a crush on, and not all of her friends are on her side due to how she reacted.

Now, her crush is someone she's had feelings for for more than a year, and he's in her same group of friends. She's painfully shy, but still, all of their friends are aware that she likes this guy.

"Looking back now, I am 100% sure he knew too and was just taking advantage of it. Last week, he texted me out of nowhere. He was acting super sweet and asked if I could help him prep food for a big family BBQ he was hosting over the weekend," she explained.

"He told me he loves my cooking and said it will be fun, just the two of us cooking and hanging out. I'll even get us a nice bottle of wine."

"I was so excited. I totally thought this was his way of setting up a date. He said he was broke until payday, so I spent about $80 of my own money on groceries, which he promised to pay me back for."

On Saturday morning, she got to his apartment really early. He opened the door to greet her, directed her to the kitchen, and walked off to the living room to play video games.

Her crush didn't offer to help, and he didn't do any of the cooking or prep work with her. She ended up spending four hours alone cooking enough food to feed an army.

When she would request his assistance, he screamed that he was in the middle of gaming and needed a minute. He never came to help.

As soon as she was finished, she put the food into containers and asked if he wanted to have wine. He laughed in her face and informed her he never bought wine.

Then he said she needed to hurry up and leave, since the girl he's been dating was going to be there soon to help him set the backyard up for the party, and he didn't want her to get the wrong impression.

"My stomach completely dropped. I asked him what he was talking about. He casually admitted that he only invited me over because he wanted to impress this new girl with a big home-cooked spread, and he knew I would not say no to him," she continued.

"I felt completely humiliated, but then I just snapped. I did not scream or cry. I walked right back into the kitchen, grabbed all the containers of food that I paid for and cooked myself, and dumped everything straight into his garbage can."

"Just to be petty, I squirted a bottle of blue dish soap all over the trash bag so he could not fish anything out. I grabbed my purse and walked out the front door while he was screaming at me. Ever since then, he has been calling me nonstop."

Her crush is accusing her of embarrassing him in front of the girl he's been seeing, and he said she destroyed his BBQ. A handful of their mutual friends believe she was disrespectful to ruin all of the food, and that it was an envious overreaction on her part.

These people also think she should not have put the food in the garbage, since his family was supposed to have enjoyed it. She really wanted to just stand up for herself after her crush used her.

She's left wondering if she was wrong.

Whoever thinks she was being too dramatic in her reaction is clearly not her friend. I would have done the same thing, or at least walked out of there with the food to enjoy the fruits of my labor.

But then, I also feel she should have turned around and walked right out of there once this guy let her know that he expected her to do everything alone and act like his private chef. Or honestly, she should have run the other way before then, when this guy said he was broke and didn't have the money for the food.

This guy is one of the biggest jerks I've ever heard of, and I'm proud of her for how she stood up for herself, even if it was at the expense of her delicious food.
