Her Mother And Stepsister Blatantly Lied To Her Niece About How Close Of An Aunt-Niece Relationship They Had, But After The Truth Recently Came Out, They Are Now Expecting Her To Help Fix The Situation
When this young woman was fifteen years old, her stepsister– who was nineteen at the time– had a baby. Her stepsister was still living at home and did not know who the father of her daughter was, though.
So, her mother and stepsister ultimately decided that she would be the one who babysat her niece every day after school until other family members arrived home.
This ended up being the system at home for three years until she turned eighteen and moved out of her mother and stepfather’s house.
Then, she moved in with her brother, who was the same age as her stepsister, since she and her stepsister never had a great relationship.
“My stepsister and I were never sisters. We never called each other family or had a relationship built on anything,” she explained.
“So, I never regarded her daughter as my niece, and I never planned to be an overly involved figure.”
And she stuck to that sentiment– because ever since she moved out, she has only seen her niece three times over the past six years.
She simply just never had a strong familial attachment to her niece, and honestly, she never considered her niece to be her own.
It recently came out, though, that during those years of absence, her mother and stepsister basically lied to her niece about their relationship.

In fact, they actually totally played up her relationship with her niece and told her niece that she was always really involved.
For instance, they told her niece stories about her cuddling her niece to sleep and calling her niece her “little baby.”
Her mother and stepsister also claimed that she adored her niece more than anyone else in the world– and even used staged photos to prove it.
“My mom had taken a few photos of me and my niece that she had staged at the time. They show my niece those photos as if they were moments my mom had walked in on,” she said.
“So, my niece has been waiting for this aunt figure who considers her their own child.”
This fact became overwhelmingly apparent to her this past year when she saw her niece three times.
And since she had gotten pregnant and was, obviously, expecting a baby, her niece began acting seriously angry and jealous.
But, she did not learn about this fake relationship her niece had been lied to about until the last time she was at her grandparent’s house.
Apparently, while visiting, both she and her partner were very focused on their newborn baby. And her niece was super emotional and kept trying to steal her attention away. It was at that point that what her mother and stepmother lied about finally came to light.
First, she got accused of trying to replace her niece. Then, her niece said her baby was stealing her niece’s place and trying to push her out.
Finally, her niece claimed that she used to do all of the same sentimental stuff, and her niece said it was unfair that she doesn’t do that anymore.
And quite honestly, she was beyond confused. But, after her niece eventually asked her stepsister to make her be sentimental again, she started to understand what had happened.
“My niece wanted me to dedicate myself to her the way she had been told I had. She wanted me to put her before my child,” she recalled.
Then, after that bomb was dropped, both she and her grandparents could not believe their ears. Her grandparents even actually ended up telling her stepsister to leave, who– after some arguing– obliged. Afterward, her grandparents also called her mom to ask what the hell her mother had been thinking to lie to her niece like that.
Still, though, the drama was far from over– because then, she received a call from her mother. And during that call, her mother actually told her she needed to talk to her niece and help them “fix the hurt” her niece was going through. But, to be frank, she was honest with her mother and said it was not her job to fix a problem that her mother and stepsister created all by themselves.
If you could not have guessed, though, her mother got pissed off and claimed she should help for the sake of her niece– not them. She was also accused of lacking compassion.
So, ever since that night, she has been left wondering what to do about her niece. She is not sure if refusing to step in and talk to her niece was the right thing to do or if leaving her mother and stepsister to deal with the lie on their own makes her a total jerk.
