He Left His Date And Told Her To Walk Home Alone After She Humiliated A Friend By Accusing Them Of Skimming Pizza Money

For the last three months, this 52-year-old man has been going out with Addy, 53.
Early on in their relationship, he loved how kind and personable she was. She seemed like the type of person who never wanted to hurt someone’s feelings or offend anyone.
Addy went through a divorce with her now ex-husband because he had an affair, and they had three children together.
She has a friend named Bertha, 50, whom she is extremely close with.
Bertha is currently engaged to a well-known businessman in their town, and he isn’t positive, but he thinks that Bertha has a successful career as well.
Recently, he and Addy went to a gathering with about 10 to 12 friends, and Bertha was in attendance.
They were all having a blast, eating and talking.
By 6 p.m., the group ate all of the food, and Bertha offered to go get a pizza for pickup.
“She comes back with five boxes of pizza and several bags of soft drinks and beer. Important: everyone gave her money to contribute. She hands Abby part of the goods, and Addy asks for the receipt. Bertha handed her the receipt, and Addy went from zero to 100. She accused her of skimming the pizza money and that she owed her five dollars. Addy’s face went red, and she looked furious,” he said.

One of their friends who overheard the commotion told Addy to settle down.
On the other hand, Bertha froze because she was stunned and visibly uneasy.
Bertha told Addy that she included an extra $18 to go toward the pizzas, and she bought all of the drinks herself.
“After it was all clarified, Bertha confronted Addy and told her she wouldn’t tolerate her disrespect and that she’s fed up with Addy using her wounded woman status to disrespect people without facing the consequences,” he explained.
He attempted to intervene and avoid more drama, but 20 minutes later, Bertha left still upset, ignoring everyone who was pleading with her to stay.
After Bertha walked out, the entire vibe shifted, and things were no longer fun.
He and Addy left the gathering early to walk home, and he decided to have a talk with her about her behavior and call her out on it.
“She can’t go around accusing, insulting, and humiliating her friends. She has always gushed about how Bertha has been such a good friend and even helped her. I never saw her apologize to her friend, and this is concerning. For background, she has always said that Bertha was the one friend who chose Addy over her ex amid her divorce,” he shared.
Once he expressed his concerns, Addy got mad at him, but he asked if they could walk to a nearby park so that they could continue talking and hash things out together.
Addy doubled down on her claim that she didn’t make things awkward and uncomfortable for everyone during the gathering.
In response, he said that she shouldn’t be throwing away friendships.
Then, Addy explained that she believes Bertha “betrayed her” by not informing her that a mutual friend of theirs was engaged. This mutual friend had ended her friendship with Addy, and after she got engaged, she requested that all her friends make sure that Addy never had any information about her personal life.
But Addy eventually found out that her former friend was getting married, and she chose to show up to the wedding and stand on the sidewalk so that the bride would see her.
Due to this situation, Addy felt justified in how she treated Bertha. In her opinion, Bertha deserved to be humiliated in the way she humiliated her.
She continued, complaining that Bertha acts high and mighty because of who she’s engaged to, also mentioning a large company that Bertha supposedly owns.
They argued for a while, and once he heard the background of the fallout with a former friend, he believed that Addy must have some issues respecting people’s boundaries.
As their fight continued, Addy then told him he didn’t have her back during the gathering. She then asked him what the point was of dating someone who wouldn’t support her or make her feel safe in uncomfortable situations.
At this, he got up from the park bench they were sitting on and walked home, leaving Addy to make the five-to-eight-minute walk to her house by herself.
