He Told His Girlfriend That They Will Never Get Married Or Buy A House Together Because He Was Badly Burned By His Ex, But She Thinks That’s Just Selfish

Four years ago, this 34-year-old man’s three-year relationship ended.

He and his ex-partner had a child together and lived in the UK.

However, he’d originally been against having children because he was concerned that if they broke up, he would be cut off from his children.

Plus, he didn’t want his children to be raised in an environment where their parents weren’t together.

During their relationship, he used inheritance money to purchase his grandparents’ home, which his mother was born in.

From there, he spent the rest of his inheritance on renovations that he did himself.

“My ex was on the deeds, as she had made a big song and dance about not me not loving her or our son, and if I die, they become homeless. Eventually, against my better judgment and threatened with losing my child, I caved,” he said.

When their son was 2-years-old, his ex began to have an affair with a man who was older than her father.

Then, she ended their three-year relationship and moved out.

“Six months after that, she got solicitors involved and claimed I was abusive (I never was, and, in fact, I have videos of her punching me in my sleep) and stopped my contact with my child,” he explained.

For the next two years, he and his ex battled it out in court. He spent $48,500 in legal fees.

The court offered him the option of writing four letters per year to his son, but he wouldn’t be allowed to have any other contact.

“If you know the UK family law system, you’ll understand this. Once a woman claims abuse, they stop all father contact, and her legal fees become free, so legal teams advise to say that,” he shared.

This past week, he was evicted from his house, and since his wife was on the deed, his ex is legally able to sell his home if she chooses to.

Once their court battle is over, his ex could possibly earn $72,750, and he has had to pay her legal fees, which are more than $18,000.

Now, he’s unfortunately homeless and can’t have contact with his son because in order to be able to see him, he would have to continue to fight for visitation in court, and he can’t afford it.

For nearly two years, he has been dating his current girlfriend, 35. They get along great and have a wonderful relationship.

She has children of her own from another relationship, and he adores them.

However, he recently informed his girlfriend that after everything he’s gone through with his ex, he won’t be marrying her or buying a home and allowing her to have shared ownership of it.

If they live together someday, he expects her not to claim ownership of anything that belongs to him, whether it be property or money.

After this conversation, his girlfriend and her family told him that he was self-centered and that he had a preoccupation with money.

In his view, he doesn’t want to get himself into another situation like the one he’s currently in with his ex.

Do you think he’s wrong for not wanting to get married or ever buy a home with his girlfriend?
