His Young Neighbors Have Been Leaving Their Emaciated Puppy Out In The Cold, So Now He Wants To Steal The Dog And Get It The Care That It Needs

This guy really doesn’t know his neighbors all that well, but he does know that there’s a group of three young men– who can’t be over the age of 25– living in one of the houses on his block.
He also enjoys going on walks in the community on the weekend, but just a few weeks ago, he was totally shocked while walking by their home.
All of a sudden, a little puppy approached him, and he crouched down to pet the little guy. At that point, he realized just how skinny the dog was. Plus, the puppy reportedly looked like a “mess.”
“Had tangled fur and all that. I looked around for the owner, but I didn’t find anyone,” he recalled.
While looking around the property, though, he realized that there was an empty dog food bowl located under one of the vehicles in the driveway. So, he at least assumed that the puppy was getting fed, and he wound up walking away.
But, for the past two days, it’s been very rainy and super cold in his town. Still, he decided to go on his walks throughout the neighborhood anyway.
Then, when he passed by his neighbor’s house again, he was mortified to see that the puppy had been left outside in the freezing rain.
“I saw this dog wet and sitting in a soggy cardboard box on the porch of the house,” he explained.
He also eventually decided to approach the puppy again and saw that one of the dog’s eyes was very swollen. It was also “clouded over,” appearing a bit white.

“And the puppy was still super skinny. I could feel all his ribs,” he added.
Now, according to him, he’s never even seen his neighbors interact with the dog. Instead, the guys just walk past the puppy when they go to get into their car.
He, on the other hand, would love to look after the puppy, and he has the means to provide a good life for the dog.
“I could take it to the vet to get him checked out and help his eye,” he reasoned.
That’s why he now just wants to take his neighbor’s dog into his own custody. Obviously, though, he’s not sure if basically stealing their pet would be the right thing to do.
Do you think stealing the puppy is the best way to help? Or should he report his neighbors? What would you do?
