While TikToker Ivy (@chronicallystayingstrong) was in math class, she witnessed the professor treat a fellow student so poorly that she decided to walk out in solidarity. Half the class followed suit.
“We walked right out, 20 minutes into the class, because this is unacceptable,” said Ivy. “I don’t know why anyone would choose to be a professor, especially teaching math, which is a really hard subject for people…and make them feel like they’re stupid.”
So, basically, they were all given a worksheet at the beginning of class. After they finished the problems on the worksheet, the professor asked for volunteers to share their answers on the board.
One girl decided to write down an answer to one of the problems on the board. The professor immediately told her that it was wrong.
When she asked why, he simply stated that they had already gone over the concepts. The girl took another look at the math problem, trying to figure out where she went wrong, all while standing in front of the entire class.
The professor told her to write the correct answer, saying that it should be easy. Now, the girl was visibly shaky and upset. She did her best to come up with an answer, but unfortunately, it was also wrong.
The professor was exasperated and couldn’t believe she got it wrong again.
Another girl went up to the board to write down an answer, but it was incorrect as well. The professor became even more upset and started yelling at the girls. One of them was tearing up, and everyone else was looking at each other in confusion.
The students began packing up their stuff and proceeded to walk out the door. Ivy filed a complaint against the professor because his behavior has been an issue since college started, but it has only gotten progressively worse.

She believes other students have done the same.
In the comments section, many TikTok users described the times they’ve seen professors treat students horribly. Others detailed what they did to retaliate against the rudeness.
“My statistics professor made a girl cry on the first day of class because she brought a spiral notebook instead of a three-ring binder like he said in the syllabus. On the first day,” commented one user.
“I straight up told a professor I’m paying to be here. I will not be treated like an errant child. It blew her mind. She got mad that I wasn’t taking notes. My hand was messed up,” wrote another.
“My sophomore year of college, my chemistry class got our professor fired because he was so degrading, rude, and condescending, just like yours! We had an auditor come. He was terminated, and we all got A’s,” shared a third.
