His Girlfriend’s Dad Texted Him That She’s Pregnant, And He’s Not The Father Of The Unborn Baby

It’s always so funny and strange to me to hear about girls who get pregnant, then lie about who their baby daddy is. Because paternity tests always will reveal the truth at the end of the day if someone else doesn’t do it beforehand.

This 20-year-old man and his 21-year-old  girlfriend started dating back in their sophomore year of high school. He graduated early, then signed up for the Marines.

When he did this, he declared that they should split up, as he would be going quite a long time without seeing her, and he was afraid she would feel stuck.

She was only a freshman in college at the time, and she had a very bright future ahead of her. His girlfriend responded that she didn’t want to break up and still wanted to be with him, no matter the distance.

His own family quit speaking to him when he enlisted, and his girlfriend’s family attended his boot camp graduation while his own loved ones failed to show up.

In the last three years, he’s been stationed in a location that’s very far from his hometown, and he’s been back to see his girlfriend five times.

November was the last time that he saw her, and it was a nice visit. He stayed at his girlfriend’s place, and her roommates were good to him.

“Everything was fine, it was perfect, man. I follow her on all social media platforms. I see everything she posts. She never posted other guys. I felt like the luckiest guy ever,” he explained.

“Until last week, her dad [texted] me that she’s pregnant and she’s 3 months, [and] no one told me besides her dad. I thought he was joking, but nope.”

“Apparently, at first, she was trying to pass it off like it was my baby, and like I already knew about her being pregnant; she probably doesn’t even know whose baby it is. She’s probably been cheating on me the entire time.”

Aside from his girlfriend’s family, her two best friends are aware of her pregnancy. His life feels surreal right now, because he loved his girlfriend with all of his heart and would have moved heaven and earth for her.

He is aware that, from the outside looking in, it could be said that he neglected their relationship by not being close by, but he spoke to his girlfriend every single day.

She never indicated that she was bothered by the space between them, and she knew he would be back home with her in a year.

“Even at the start, I told her if she ever had doubts or felt trapped, she could just tell me, and there’d be no hard feelings. IDK what I did wrong,” he added.

“I don’t feel sorry for myself. I should’ve known this was a possibility when I joined. If anything, I should’ve been smarter than this. This happens to most people in the military, but it’s just crazy how she could throw everything away.”

He’s hesitated to tell his friends who are stationed with him about the baby drama, since they’ll gossip about it for at least a month. He just can’t believe his girlfriend cheated, then tried to get her whole family to believe the baby is his when it isn’t.

He’s left feeling foolish, and he has since cut off contact with his now-ex-girlfriend and her loved ones. But first, he did thank her dad for telling him the news.

Well, I think he dodged a bullet here! I’m confused as to how this girl thought she could…what, get him to go along with her lie and pretend the baby’s his just because she told her parents he’s the dad of her unborn child?

Her dad is the real hero for tipping him off. At least he didn’t get stuck raising another man’s kid, and there are plenty more fish in the sea, so he can go find a girl who won’t lie and cheat.

What advice do you have for him?
