She Asked Her Husband To Use His Daughter’s College Fund For Her Son Instead, Because He’s A Better Student
A 36-year-old woman has been married to her 57-year-old husband for the last 2 years. She does have an 18-year-old son named Noah from a previous relationship, and her husband has a 17-year-old daughter named Grace from his previous wife.
Her husband treats Noah exactly like he’s his own son. Now, she says that Noah is an excellent, straight-A kind of student.
He also plays football and basketball, and he volunteers in his free time for charity. She considers Noah to be a well-rounded, amazing young man.
“Noah has recently received a likely letter from his dream school, and we are all ecstatic about it,” she explained.
“My husband and I started talking about finances and how we are going to contribute towards tuition fees. I was a single mom until I got married, so I haven’t got much saved, but my husband has mentioned the fund he’s been collecting for college since his daughter was born.”
“I was a single mom until I got married, so I haven’t got much saved, but my husband has mentioned the fund he’s been collecting for college since his daughter was born.”
Since she knows about the college fund her husband has been saving for when Grace graduates, she asked her husband if they could use that money for Noah instead.
The money in this college fund is enough to pay for all 4 years of Noah’s college education at a top-tier school.
“He said no in the beginning, but I explained that while I love Grace, she isn’t very academically inclined,” she said.
“Average GPA, no extracurriculars, and has even said that she’s going to the community college close by for the first 2 years.”
Additionally, she pointed out to her husband that Grace is only a junior, so that gives them a solid year to start over on saving money for her college education.
At that point, her husband was kind of not sure what to say, so he decided to ask Grace how she would feel if he gave Noah the money he had been saving for her to go to college.
Well, when her husband asked Grace about how she would feel, everything went south quickly.
“He said there was screaming involved and included her calling my son and me names that I will not be repeating here,” she continued.
“Accusing him of cheating on her mother, which is completely false, and she knows it; we met 3 years ago, 7 months after his divorce. I’ve been getting a barrage of texts and voicemails from his ex-wife’s side of the family, calling me all sorts of names. My husband is disgusted with his daughter’s words and actions and is pretty upset and down right now.”
Her mom, her aunt, and her sister all think she was right in asking to use the money for Noah, as they feel that he is the most deserving of it. Since her husband is so upset and considering the fact that Grace and Grace’s mom’s side of the family is upset, too, she’s left wondering if it was wrong of her to ask for the money for Noah.
