Last week, this 20-year-old guy met a 23-year-old girl on a dating app. They then changed their conversation over to social media to keep chatting more.

As they continued talking to one another, they realized they had a lot of commonalities, and he asked her to go on a date with him that evening.

Their first date was honestly excellent, even though he was super anxious because he’s pretty new to dating and the whole meeting people online thing.

During the course of their first several drinks together, she had to be the one to keep the conversation going because of his anxiety.

But then, things became easier between them, and then she asked if he would like to go take a walk and get some fresh air since the bar they were in was loud.

After their walk, this girl waited for his train with him, and they made plans to grab dinner together that upcoming Sunday.

While he was on the train, they kept talking over social media, but it did take him about a half hour or so to get back to her since he had bad reception on the train.

He then arrived home, and he was trying his best to reply to her messages. The final message she sent him that evening was simply a heart emoji.

He added a like to her message and went to bed since it was midnight. Several hours after his head hit the pillow, this girl messaged him to say he should never leave a girl on “seen,” even if she had just sent him an emoji.

He found that super strange. The following evening, she was at a work event, and she asked if she could come over to his house.

That caught him off guard, and although he was excited to see her, she backed out because she didn’t want to spend the money on an Uber.

They instead made plans to call one another, and that’s when things began to unravel, even though they made plans to grab sushi for a later afternoon date.

He mentioned he had to work before their date, and she had nothing to say in response to that.

She then abruptly hung up, but a few minutes later, she began sending voice messages to him, and he could tell that she was about to cry.

In her messages, she said it took him too long to reply to her and that he should have brought up that he had to work.

Somehow, she misinterpreted his work schedule as him wanting to cancel their date, which really didn’t make sense to him.

He replied, trying to outline why he had been slow to reply to some of her messages before clarifying that he could still make their sushi date.

“She wasn’t having it, she sent a few messages saying how she has been messed around with in the past, she was telling her friends how much she liked me, etc., and that I’ve mistreated her. I honestly had no idea what to say,” he explained.

“I again tried to clear things up, but she then just started telling me it “Doesn’t matter,” and my last message to her was asking her not to cry and that I’m sorry, which she had hearted for some reason. A few minutes later, she posts on her story and crying herself to sleep and that was that.”

“One part of me sort of feels bad because I did really like her, we liked the same weird stuff, but then again, I’m still sort of confused on what I’ve done wrong? I’ve sort of moved on and have been talking to other women, but I still sort of like her.”

He’s left wondering why his date hates him such much. Do you have any advice for him?
