Halloween season is right around the corner! People are already beginning to revisit their decoration collection and planning to get their front lawns good and spooky.

However, sometimes, not everyone in your neighborhood approves of your decor.

One woman recently upset her neighbor after refusing to take down her giant skeleton that was scaring her young son on his walk home from school.

She recently moved to a new neighborhood in April and is a big fan of cute and quirky Halloween decorations. As soon as September 1st hit, she was excited to decorate her front lawn with her favorite decorations, including her new massive 12-foot skeleton she spent $300 on.

“I was just too excited to wait,” she explained.

“People on my street all laughed about it, and the teens down the street came to take pictures with it. My next-door neighbor is going to make stuff to go with it.”

She feels her skeleton isn’t all too scary; it’s more funny and cute. But some people would beg to differ.

Unfortunately, her street is part of the route a bunch of young kids take as they walk home from school. One of those kids is a little boy who gets so scared of her skeleton that he cries when he sees it.

Recently, the boy’s mom approached her and asked her to take down the skeleton for her son.

“I asked the mom if putting a silly hat, a boa, silly shirt or something [on it] would work,” she recalled.

“She said no and asked again for me to take it down. I told her that I have wanted one of these forever and that I am not going to take it down.”

Then, she suggested figuring out a different route for her son to take to and from school if he was so freaked out by the skeleton. The mom sneered at her, seemingly judging her for being so attached to the decoration.

She then told the boy’s mom that because she spent $300 on the skeleton, she intended to keep it up and enjoy it. The mom then said she thought $300 wasn’t enough to break the bank, but after looking at her house, she “realized money was an issue” for her and her husband.

Then, the mom said, “It costs nothing to be kind to a little boy who is scared.”

Not wanting to deal with this mother anymore, she simply thanked her for her “suggestion” and walked away. Before leaving, the mom snapped a picture of the skeleton, which she presumes will be used to blast her on social media.

Since their conversation, she sees the mom rolling her eyes at the skeleton and taking more pictures of it every time she walks by her house on her doorbell camera footage.

Her husband agrees with her that they shouldn’t feel obligated to take the skeleton down because of this one kid and his mom, who they think are being unreasonable.

Should they take down the skeleton?
