This 28-year-old guy has a friend named Dave, who is 29-years-old and has always been a bit of a jokester.

But, even though he’s known Dave for years and never had a problem with his friend’s sense of humor, he recently hit his breaking point when Dave sabotaged his first date with a new girl.

It all went down last week when he took a 25-year-old woman named Sarah to dinner.

“We were having a great time, laughing, making plans for the future – total chemistry,” he recalled.

Then, in the middle of their meal, Dave showed up and crashed their dinner completely uninvited.

At the time, he thought his friend was just being his typical goofy self. Well, that was until Dave actually started flirting with Sarah, his own date, right in front of him.

In the beginning, he tried to brush it off and move on with the meal. However, then Dave started making comments about how he was “actually single” and searching for a girlfriend.

“And I’m just sitting there, watching my date’s face go from happy to awkward as she tries to politely decline his advances,” he detailed.

This finally pushed him to put his foot down and tell Dave to “back off.” Still, his friend didn’t get the hint, and the drama only continued.

That’s because, after crashing his and Sarah’s first date, Dave actually had the nerve to ask him to cover his half of the dinner bill! His friend claimed that would be fair since he “thought it would be a fun surprise” to join the date.

This infuriated him, and he flat-out told Dave to pay for his own food. Unfortunately, though, his friend wouldn’t back off and actually accused him of being an insecure friend.

“Claiming I was overreacting and that Sarah probably liked him better anyway,” he revealed.

Since then, their other friends have heard about the incident, too, and many actually agree with Dave – saying that he was “too harsh” toward Dave when his friend was just joking.

He, on the other hand, thinks Dave was really just attempting to sabotage his date.

“I said I’d pay for my own meal, but there was no way I’d cover for him after he disrespected me and my date like that!” he vented.

Nonetheless, ever since the date went wrong, he’s been left wondering if not paying for his friend’s meal really made him the rude one.

Can you imagine having a friend crash your date like that? How would you have reacted if you were in his shoes? Do you agree that it wasn’t his job to cover his friend’s dinner bill?
