There are a lot of fascinating jobs out there, and Austin Keil (@austinbvi on TikTok) has had one of the most interesting and obscure ones I’ve ever heard of.
Now, Austin started working at 14 and had a variety of different jobs. But his favorite job of all time, he got hired to do in the Virgin Islands: he was paid to look hot and hold a billionaire’s baby. No joke.
Austin got the job through installing solar panels, believe it or not. His job was to climb up there on the roof and help put the panels up.
When he was gone, he would take a tiny boat back to his island. After Austin was done installing the solar panels on this one private island in particular, he had to help move all of the furniture back into the homes.
While Austin was going about his work, he would chit-chat with the guests on the island, and people would tell him that he was great with all of them.
Since he was so good at telling stories and making everyone laugh, he was invited to work directly with the guests. He was 17 or so at the time and then got into serving food and drinks.
“One day, this baby is crying, crying, crying, and I pick up the baby and just rock it, and the baby stops crying. Now everyone in the room is like, ‘That baby has not not cried one day in its life since it was born,'” Austin explained in his video.
Austin was offered a job holding the baby, whose parents were billionaires. He was confused because the baby had a nanny, and he didn’t think literally holding a baby qualified as gainful employment.
But no, the family was serious. They just wanted Austin to hold the baby. The nanny would change the diapers and do all of the dirty work. Austin just had to stand there looking hot while being a human cradle.

“And so I would go on yachts, I would go on planes, I would go on helicopters. I would travel all over to different places. I would eat super rich people food every day, and I would just sit there and hold the baby and tell some jokes, some stories, that was it; that was my job,” Austin added.
Austin attended a charity event where the purpose was to pitch ideas to billionaires in order to get funding. While Austin was there, he was shocked by how many millions of dollars the billionaires were willing to give.
Austin went home later that day and decided to look up what all of the billionaires in that room did for a living. Every single person basically was in computer science.
It dawned on Austin that getting into the tech industry could change his life, so he went to college to study computer science and learn to code.
Austin started off taking online courses at night so he could still do his baby holding gig during the day. Eventually, he applied to a community college in California to complete his associate’s degree.
From there, he transferred to UCLA for his bachelor’s. He got a scholarship and was able to go to school for free. During his breaks, he would fly home to the Virgin Islands to still hold billionaire babies from time to time.
And that is how Austin had one crazy job that helped him move up in the world.
