This 29-year-old woman had been dating her boyfriend, who is 42, for over five months. But, this past week, she found out that she was the other woman, and her “boyfriend” actually had a long-term girlfriend.

And honestly, she just could not believe it– because she thought their “relationship” was pretty meaningful.

Apparently, her boyfriend would always make sweet little gestures– like hand-muddling her cocktails or buying her favorite anti-acids.

He also told her to leave her toiletries at his place and always remembered her favorite snacks– buying them before she came over.

“He fell asleep holding my hand while we watched Princess Bride, called me baby, surprised me with gifts, was good with communication, and most importantly, implied that we were exclusive,” she added.

On Tuesday, though, her boyfriend left for work and let her sleep in later. And after he left, she had the urge to check his laptop.

There, she realized that her partner had a girlfriend he had been with for at least four years. On top of that, he was also texting various other random women!

The conversations she read between her boyfriend and his long-term girlfriend, though, really stuck out to her.

Apparently, the pair said “I love you” and had matching footie pajamas. Her boyfriend would also send his long-term girlfriend gifts, buy her wax appointments, and hooked up with her the very day before she saw him.

“I’m disgusted and heartbroken. I can’t reconcile the person I knew with this person I’ve discovered,” she said.

After she confronted her boyfriend, though, he actually just wound up ghosting her. So, it was not until she messaged him a few days later– claiming to have a moral obligation to reveal the truth to his long-term girlfriend– that he reached back out.

At that point, he called her and utterly begged her to keep the infidelity a secret. According to her, he was literally on the brink of tears.

Then, her “boyfriend” started to try to explain himself. He claimed that the other girl was not actually his girlfriend– instead, he swore they were exes.

But he admitted that they still loved each other and would go on dates and hook up sometimes. Her boyfriend also claimed that his “ex” was extremely depressed and had six years left to live. Finally, he revealed how he had cheated on his ex in the past and completely broken her heart.

So, her boyfriend begged her not to put his ex through the same turmoil again because he didn’t know if she would “make it.”

“He was begging me not to be ‘vindictive’ and tell her, but I feel like a horrible person keeping this secret from her,” she revealed.

Honestly, though, she believes that the most insane part of this whole situation is the fact that she told her boyfriend she would be totally fine with an open relationship from the beginning. However, he was the one who implied that they were in an exclusive relationship.

But she still just had a weird gut feeling, which is why she wound up checking her boyfriend’s laptop in the first place.

So, she claimed that if he had just been honest about dating around, then she would not have cared or gone snooping.

Now, though, everything has changed for her. She is still trying to process the entire situation and determine the best way to move forward. And quite frankly, she is just so upset because she really did like that guy.

Still, her “boyfriend” did not even seem to care that he hurt her. Instead, he has only been sweet whenever she threatens to tell his long-term girlfriend about the cheating.

“And then he begs me not to say anything. [Saying] it will ruin her life, his life, etc. How she’ll be devastated,” she vented.

She keeps trying to point out how she knows that all too well, though, because he is really devastated, too!

Nonetheless, her boyfriend just keeps claiming to realize that he is “horrible” and doesn’t know why he “is this way.”

So, she’s now completely unsure how to proceed. Apparently, the guy still wants to continue being friends with benefits, and in her heart, she wants to go back to him.

But her brain, conscience, and dignity just will not let her do that.

And now, this means that her largest question is whether or not she should reach out to the long-term girlfriend and tell her the truth.

If you were in the long-term girlfriend’s shoes, would you want to know about the cheating? Do you think her “boyfriend” is lying about his “ex” having six years left to live? Does he just sound like a liar? What would you do in this situation?
