TikToker @baggedblossom went on a terrible first date, and from the start, things were questionable. First of all, he picked her up but did not open the car door for her.
When they got to the restaurant, he asked the hostess if there was open seating at the bar. She would have preferred to sit at a table for more space to eat and a more personal setting since it was a first date after all.
"At that point, I was really hungry because the whole reason we went on a date was that we were on the phone, and I complained about having to cook dinner," said @baggedblossom.
"And then, I had to get ready for a date because I wanted to look pretty, so I was like, I'll stick through it, even though he's never seeing me again."
The restaurant was known for its Italian food. As she perused the menu, she was trying to decide between the octopus, the ravioli, or the steak.
At first, she didn't realize that he was trying to push her to choose the ravioli because it was the cheaper option. The steak was $35, and the ravioli was $24. He finally told her that the food was a bit pricey, and he didn't want to spend too much money.
"Mind you, he picked the restaurant," she pointed out. "I always have the guy pick the restaurant on the first date because I don't want to suggest something out of their budget."
She chose the ravioli because it honestly sounded good. She also decided to add shrimp to her dish, not caring if her date got mad. She could always pay her own bill if it came down to it.
During the meal, he talked about how difficult it was to get out of having a frugal mindset. He grew up poor, so he was used to looking for the cheapest option.

Then, he brought up his ex and how she helped him realize that it was okay to spend money on nice things. They had been together for a year and just broke up three months ago.
They were supposed to get back together a month ago, but they couldn't because she had taken her own life. Of course, @baggedblossom was shocked.
She asked him if he thought it was a little soon to be out on a first date, given that his ex passed away only a month ago. He nonchalantly pointed out that it was just a first date.
While he was dropping her off, he revealed that for seven years, he had been checking up on another ex. They don't speak, but he continues to keep tabs on her. They were together for a long time. But she is now married and has a great life.
Overall, that was one of the top two worst dates she had ever been on in her life.
@baggedblossom i did not keep this short nor sweet nor simple but that’s fine #dating #sd
