Loaded Baked Potato Soup Is A Great Recipe To Try When The Temperature Starts To Really Drop

Want something cozy and comforting to eat for this cooling season? This loaded baked potato soup recipe could be your pick!

Imagine this: sipping on a big, warm bowl filled with thick, creamy soup while you stare at the falling leaves outside your window. How cozy is that?

Addison Bounds, aka @cooking4wifey, shared his recipe for the loaded baked potato soup on TikTok. Addison also claims the dish is his wife’s all-time favorite dinner.

Get your notes ready. Here are the ingredients for the soup:

  1. 8 slices of bacon
  2. 1/2 onion
  3. 3celeries
  4. 2 carrots
  5. 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
  6. 5 garlic cloves
  7. 2 cups of milk›
  8. 1/4 to ⅓ of a cup of flour
  9. 2 potatoes
  10. 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  11. Chicken stock (enough to cover all your ingredients)
  12. Green onions

With the preparation, you just need to cut all the ingredients into biting sizes, mince the garlic, and shred the cheddar cheese, which Addison recommends using a food processor.

After the prep, you may start cooking now. The first step would be to brown the bacon in a pot.

Put the celery and onions in first. Carrots and garlic would be going in after.

“Make sure you put the veggies in that bacon fat,” Addison reminds his audience. “Because that’s all flavors.”

While the veggies are cooking, add some salt and pepper to season them. Also, you may start shredding the cheese during this time.

A small tip here. The food would taste better if you grated the cheddar during cooking instead of buying the already-grated pack. Then, you may pour the flour, chicken stock, and milk onto your cooked veggies. And the potatoes are going in with them!

Put the lid on and let the soup simmer for 20 minutes. “And go show your family some love and give them kisses,” Addison says while walking to the living room where his wife and daughter are. “They deserve it.”

After all the veggies are softened, it is time to add in the cheese and bacon!

“If the soup is a little thin, go ahead and simmer for another five minutes or so,” Addison recommends. Add some more cheese and green onions at the very end.

Now, dinner is served! Yum! You can watch Addison’s original video on TikTok here.
