If your spouse was leaving you for the off-chance a teenager they're crushing on at work likes them back, what would you do? Let them go, or fight for your marriage?

Back in March, this 25-year-old woman and her 27-year-old husband did separate, but they resolved to work on fixing their marriage.

Well, that's what she thought they were doing, but her husband had other ideas. She was 20 weeks pregnant when they separated, and her husband was frequently gone for school and work.

In the middle of May, her husband moved back into their house full-time, and until June, everything was going really well for them.

"One night, I just had an odd feeling and decided to ask him, ‘What are we? What’s going on here?’ in [an attempt] to get a conversation going about our current relationship status and to see if he was also feeling good," she explained.

"Apparently around this same time, he had been given a compliment by a coworker, and she’d been chatting with him a little. He says that then he had a good thing going at work and a good thing going at home between us, but asking about the relationship in the way I did made things fall flat between us."

"It was unattractive, and I should have just said things felt good and asked if we could continue taking steps forward in the right direction...while I do think I could have approached things differently, I don’t feel I was inherently wrong for wanting clarity on the relationship."

It was about a week later that she questioned her husband about why he was acting as if he hated her. He confessed that he developed feelings for his coworker, which evolved into him saying he hadn't felt like that in quite a long time.

Her husband added that he was interested in pursuing his coworker, despite them previously agreeing not to date anyone else during their separation.

They had committed to working on themselves in order to hopefully get back together. Well, her husband stated that he didn't really recall saying he would refrain from seeing other girls. Convenient, right?

"The best part about this is the girl is 19! While she is an adult, it just feels unsettling to me. She also doesn’t know that I exist, or our two children," she said.

"And he doesn’t even know if she for sure likes him back, but he’s willing to throw away the last 9 years together and the life we’ve built ‘just in case’ she does like him back. But what can a 19-year-old girl, fresh out of high school, mind you, offer him that I haven’t?"

"I feel beyond broken and have tried everything to understand why this is happening, but I simply can’t wrap my head around it at all…I’m only 2 weeks postpartum, and we have a 4-year-old…I just hate that he has been so open about his intentions with her if she also feels the same way."

"He wants to take care of her, take her out, make her feel special…all of the things I’ve been asking for for YEARS!! I wish giving it all up didn’t feel so hard, because he clearly isn’t interested in me and I’m sure one day I’ll find a man that will cherish me and my children."

Imagine being a married man with two kids who's willing to ditch his family for a teen coworker who might not even like him back. I don't think I've ever heard of anything more pathetic.

That sounds to me like the last kind of guy a 19-year-old would want to start a relationship with. Her husband is living in a delusional fantasy. She should just get a lawyer and file for divorce ASAP.

What advice do you have for her?
