He’s Refusing To Help Pay For His Daughter’s College Tuition Until She Tries To Form A Bond With His New Wife And Son
This thirty-eight-year-old man has a nineteen-year-old daughter named Ariel with his ex-wife, Lauren.
But he and Lauren welcomed Ariel into the world when they were way too young. They ended up moving into Lauren’s family home, and he was forced to work multiple jobs just to make ends meet.
And even though the pair did remain best friends throughout it all, he eventually learned that Lauren had been unfaithful when Ariel was two years old.
“Lauren’s friend, Tori, told me that Lauren had been messaging guys. And, when they went out, she would give out her number. I checked Lauren’s phone and found it– so I asked for a divorce,” he recalled.
Lauren did not want to separate, though, and pushed for reconciliation. So, once he refused and got split custody of Ariel in the divorce, Lauren apparently made his life a living hell.
She would badmouth him, miss Ariel’s pick-up times, and make decisions without ever consulting him. Lauren’s father even offered him money to relinquish custody of Ariel, but he told him off and refused.
Eventually, when Ariel was six, he also got remarried to his current wife, Tori. He already knew Tori during his first marriage, and she was apparently his rock throughout the divorce.
But, he and Tori did not begin dating until two years later. Regardless, though, Lauren used his relationship as fuel to warp Ariel against him, his new wife, and their new son.
“Ariel just excludes them. Whenever she spends the night, she will just talk to me or go to her room if my family is around. Our son walks to the basement if she comes over. It hurts me a lot,” he explained.

This family divide has even pushed him to invest thousands of dollars in therapy, which he is still paying for.
But, now that Ariel is nineteen, he claims she is just being nasty for the sake of it. And he believes that nothing he says or does will ever change her mind about his family.
Nonetheless, Ariel just recently graduated from high school in May, and now that she is set to attend college this fall, there has been a whole new plethora of problems.
Apparently, when he and Lauren first split up, they decided that they would both split Ariel’s college tuition.
However, when she hosted her high school graduation party in June, Ariel only invited him and not his new wife or son.
He told Ariel how disrespectful that was and refused to attend without his family. So, he just sent a card. Still, though, Ariel apparently did not care, and she had not spoken to him since.
But, just last week, he received a call from Lauren. She claimed to have paid Ariel’s first-semester tuition bill and was wondering when he would be chipping in. So, at that moment, he decided to lay down the law.
“I said I was no longer paying since I will not pull money out of my own household when Ariel is disrespectful to two-thirds of it,” he said.
Lauren apparently freaked out, though, and claimed they had an agreement. In turn, he brought up how Lauren’s father tried to buy out his custody and told her that she could finally get what she always wanted– full control and custody.
He also texted Lauren after the phone call and said that until she set the record straight, both she and Ariel would not be hearing from him.
“I called Ariel and told her the same. I gave the reasons I was not paying and told her she needed to look into loans. But, I would pay for college if she at least tried to form a bond with my family because she created this situation with her attitude,” he vented.
Ariel just started crying, though, but he claimed that he would not fall for the sob story.
And even though he has received support from his wife on the matter, other family members have started siding with Lauren and Ariel over the college payments.
So now, despite him believing that Ariel does not deserve to have her tuition paid for unless she cuts her attitude toward his family, he is not sure if the decision was too harsh.
